The President of the Society, Adrian Inniss, stated that as individuals, we all need to be more responsible; to care for the Earth and to become agents of change. Indeed, every action counts and every day is an opportunity for us to be that positive change by committing to an environmentally friendly, and sustainable lifestyle and practices. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon rightly said, "Although individual decisions may seem small in the face of global threats and trends, when billions of people join forces in common purpose, we can make a tremendous difference." and we most certainly can. Committing to do so is the first step.
World Environment Day (WED) is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the environment. It also serves as the ‘people’s day’ for doing something positive for the environment, galvanizing individual actions into a collective power that generates an exponential positive impact on the planet. The WED theme this year is "Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care."
