Spreading the Christmas Cheer!
The Society conducted its annual Christmas Toy Drive with the twist of including candy. This was done in collaboration with the University of Guyana Student Society where donations went to the Ruimveldt Children’s Home on the 22nd December, 2017. Response was truly amazing coming down to the closing date of the donation period and members worked very hard to make the drive a success.
Dear valued reader,
A visit to the Ruimveldt Children's Home with donated toys and candies was our way of sharing the good will of the Christmas season. It was quite the haul! A few difficulties were encountered but the team finally pulled through and were rewarded with the warm delightful smiles of the children in the home. It was well worth the trouble. So, whenever you decide to become an advocate for the environment (we sure hope you do), always remember that caring for the environment isn't all about nature and wildlife. It is about teamwork and being able to look out for your fellow kin and most importantly, the future generation of advocates! We hope that these brilliant little minds grow up to be the best version of themselves and make positive changes in their communities, on the local level; reaching as far as the regional and national level. Who knows. They may even take it globally! So let's continue to press forward and become role models for our nation's children by way of enacting environmental morality and stewardship. We wish you best of luck in your endeavours for the new year 2018. Happy Holidays! The Eco-Trust family |
